Built to last! May 15, 2008 We purchased this for our son when he was 18 months old. He is now almost 3 years old and still loves it (like any toy, you have to put it away for a while and then it feels new to him again). It is built tough for the banging and crashing of little engineers. It has provided hours of entertainment for our son. I did have some issues with the engine not running properly and one of the mechanical buildings not functioning. I called the manufacturers customer service line and they sent me replacement items - no questions asked. I couldn't have been more pleased with their responsiveness and how they stood behind their product. I am a loyal fan now!
Great train set April 26, 2008 We got this train set for our son's recent two-year birthday. He loves it, and so do we! As others have noted, it is a set that's a good one (for both looks and practicality) that should last for many years.
The track and parts are more durable and less delicate than other sets I've seen, and the train set can be laid out in different ways. As he gets older, we can buy additional track parts, or machinery parts to go along the train set if we want to make it longer. The two factory-type product loaders that come with this set where one can load the train with "supplies" are extra-cool features, and the sounds that the train makes (via the remote) are very close to real-life train noises. The batteries have lasted longer than I expected, almost a month now with him playing with it almost every day for about 3 weeks.
I like the remote feature; we can just put the handle away if we don't want him to run it anymore. He also enjoys pushing it around on the track manually, making his own train sounds. The track parts snap together-he can take them apart, but we have just taught him not to!
The Best Train for Little Ones (and Big Ones) February 27, 2008 We love GeoTrax! We've purchase many different sets and trains and they are great quality. Nothing has ever broken, even with rough play from my 3 boys and various visitors. The tracks snap together so easily and the remote controlled trains are so much fun! If you are considering different types of train playsets, I definately recommend GeoTrax. They may not have a TV show, but then again, when your child gets tired of the show, he or she might not want to play with that train again. This one will take a long, long time to outgrow or tire of!
great train December 29, 2007 We ordered this for our almost four-yr. old son, who wants a "real" electric train but is not ready for one. This was perfect since he can control it with the remote (and thinks it's electric). It is also very durable and easy for him to take on and off the track. Best, it doesn't come off the track easily when he operates it, so it's not frustrating at all. And the sounds are realistic but not loud and annoying. I've already ordered other Geotrax accompanying products for his upcoming birthday.
so cute September 18, 2007 I grew up playing with my brother's toys. I had my own, but trains and cars were more fun. My daughter loves this train. It's easy to set up and loads of fun. I eventually want to add to the set. More track, bridges, and more trains would be ideal. This is also very durable.
