One of my favorites ! December 24, 2005 I love this Thomas video! When I was little I got this video along with Trust Thomas(another good one). George Carlin does a good job narrating too. It's a shame this video is no longer avalible, it makes a few of the stories in Thomas&the special letter make no sence at all! I am 10 years old and I still watch it! The story stops are:Granpuff, sleeping beauty, A bad day for Sir Handel, Rusty helps Peter Sam, Rusty to the rescue, Thomas&Stephney, and the music video called Gone fishing. All in all, it was a very good addition to my collection of Thomas videos.
An introduction to all the little engines November 28, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Rusty To The Rescue is the latest addition to the rapidly growing list of obsolete Thomas videos. Now none of the Thomas tapes deserve to be in that list but this one definitely should not have been on there. Why? Because this one introduced all the little engines including Rusty, Peter Sam, Sir Handel, Stepney, and Duke. The next three videos were all about the little engines and this video paved the road for their shining time. The story stops:
1)GRANDPUFF 5/5: Thomas tells all the other engines the story of Duke. At one time, Duke lived on a old railway with Stuart and Falcon a.k.a Peter and Sir Handel. Duke is all business, whenever Stuart and Falcon act up, Duke is always there to scold them. But one day, the railway closes down and people come to buy Stuart and Falcon but Duke is left to be locked away in a shed for a while.
2)SLEEPING BEAUTY 5/5: Sir Topham Hatt wants to find Duke. Meanwhile, foilage and trees have grown over the spot where Duke's shed is, so the workmen end up having a hard time looking for Duke. Will they be able to find him?
3)A BAD DAY FOR SIR HANDEL 4.5/5: Peter Sam and Sir Handel come to the Island of Sodor to help the other engines. Unfortunately, Sir Handel is very picky about the shed he will be sleeping in and very rude to Skarloey. Sir Handel will soon learn his lesson though.
4)RUSTY HELPS PETER SAM 4/5: Sir Handel is tired of pulling freight cars and he's not the only one. Gordon gives him an idea of faking sick one day so he won't have to work. So he tries it and it works. Peter Sam ends up doing his work, but the freight cars want to get back at Sir Handel but don't know that it's Peter Sam pulling them.
5)RUSTY TO THE RESCUE 4.5/5: Rusty sets off to find a new engine for the railway. He bravely enters the scrapyard where only the diesels go. Luckily, the scrapyard has one steam engine. So Rusty and Stepney, the new engine, go back to the railway.
6)THOMAS AND STEPNEY 5/5: Stepney, the bluebell engine, enjoys his new life but his railway is too short. His driver agrees with him and the next day, he comes with good news, Sir Topham Hatt has invited Stepney to his railway. Everyone is excited to meet Stepney, except for Thomas, who is a bit jealous.
"Gone Fishing"(Music Video) 6/5: A fun and catchy song about fishing and the time when Thomas went fishing. Get your fishing poles ready.
I just can't understand why they are taking Thomas videos off the market. The sad thing with this one is that only 2 out of the 6 stories can be found on other Thomas videos so if I were you, find this one used or something because this one you don't want to miss.

Praise to Rusty February 19, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I don't see why this one is no longer available. It's a great tape that features the little engines. After Stuart and Falcon leave for Sir Topham Hat's railway, Duke is left all alone. They set out to find him and he comes to join their railway. Peter Sam has his accident in this one. Thomas and Stepney also meet in this one. This is a great tape and I can't see why it's not available anymore. They made a bunch of mistakes regarding which tapes were taken off the market.
A great video to the Thomas Collection April 14, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This video has lots of new characters. Duke and Peter Sam and Sir handel too. But my most new favorite characters are Rusty, The Diesel, and Stepney the Bluebell engine. My favortie story is Thomas and Stepney. The story stops are GrandPuff, Sleeping Beauty, A Bad Day for Sir Handel, Rusty Helps Peter Sam, Rusty to the Rescue, and of course Thomas and Stepney. Also the music song is Gone Fishing. I think they should put this video back in the market because its a really good one. If you brought this video why you still could your going to like it.

This is one of my all time favorite tapes. I love the accidents because there thrilling and no one gets hurt (badly). I'll just talk about the first episode because I don't want to spoil it. Duke and the other little engines(Falcon and Stuart) work and the line closes but it turns out happy in the end.
