Collectible Toy March 12, 2003 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This kids just love it. They play with it every day. We are trying to collect as many as possible. They come with little magnets at the end that way they can stick to each other to become one long train.
He's a Very Useful Engine! February 28, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently purchased a starter train set for my son, and Thomas was included. Along with his coaches Annie and Clarabel, Thomas has provided hours of fun for my son. Strong in construction and exacting in detail, Thomas is an ideal toy for a young child. I'm planning on buying more trains and tracks to expand on my son's set and I'm sure they will all be the same excellent quality as Thomas himself. These are highly entertaining toys. Purchase one (or several) for your children. They will surely enjoy them.
We all love Thomas! January 2, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son is almost 3 and loves Thomas the tank engine and all his pals. We started with the die cast sets from Target, but soon ran out of things to buy so we moved on to the wooden set! They are very nice and durable, the only thing is my son loves to crash them and the paint somtimes chips, but they look loved! Thomas is all my son talks about, he has so much fun. However, beware whenever we buy him a new tape he then wants all the engines from that tape! =)
Very good toy July 31, 2000 25 out of 32 found this review helpful
First, when I bought a Thomas tape, My 3 years old son watched it six times in a line. Then I bought Figure 8 set. He liked it very much. Later I had the Mountain Tunnel Set and a lot of tracks and most of the engines and freight cars and circus cars. Now my three little children play them every day. The two years old twins count the engines and they all learn to share the railway, who goes where; Who passes the crossroad first to avoid crash. They learn to wait patiently because the train is very long. I help them bulid the railway system(I change the layout freqently). Dad sometimes has a race with them. It could be a hobby later in their teen life. My experence, 8 inchs track is never enough when you want to play on the carpet. They are good toys.
A boarding pass to enhanced imagination. July 22, 1999 34 out of 38 found this review helpful
This train will not teach my child quantum physics, advanced calculus, or how to share. It, and other members of the "Shining Time" line, are absolute favorites. Unlike similar train sets, the magnets stay put and the wheels stay on. Every surface is transformed into a rail line. It even stands the test of time from a teething baby brother (although not recommended as a chew toy). The price is reasonable enough to accumulate an entire set over a short amount of time, which leads to a happily cluttered bedroom, family room, and kitchen. It also helps teach the fine art of organization (parental).
