Editorial Review Peep-peep! Here comes Percy the little steam engine from the ever-popular Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends book series and television's Shining Time Station (based on The Railway Series by Reverend W. Awdry). With its rounded corners and larger features, this chunky-styled Percy is designed for little hands. Made of lightweight plastic and sporting rubber-trimmed tires, Percy, the youngest and most eager engine in the station, heads off down the tracks with his traditional three-dimensional smiling face. A rear coupling prong allows Percy to pull freight and passenger cars of his same chunky style. The 4.5-inch-by-2.5-inch engine has an axle width of 1.75 inches and fits plastic tracks designed for the My First Thomas train series. This toy does not fit the standard 1.5-inch wooden tracks. --Kathryn Gustafson

Trains August 17, 2008 All the Thomas train products are fun, durable, and require nothing more than your imagination to play with them. Perfect for our child! Highly recommended.
4yr old loves her trains...... July 6, 2008 We have a combination of Imaginarium(Toys R Us), Melissa & Doug, and Thomas brand track and engines. The Thomas stuff isn't as durable as some of the other brands but it is VERY detailed. And the kids love the familiar characters. As long as they are reasonably gentle...as gentle as kids get...this is a very nice addition to your kids collection!
In less than 20 minutes... April 12, 2008 I purchased Percy for my son - a huge Thomas (or any train) fan. Within 20 minutes of opening the package, the paint was peeled off in 4 different places. I don't know if it was missing in 3 spots already, but at least 1 was done after he got it. I wrote to the company, but haven't heard back from the yet. I hope this is a fluke, as I would love to get the collection for my son, but will not spend that kind of money on trains that won't hold up.
These Trains Are The BEST! March 19, 2007 Anyone who has seen these trains on display at the bookstore or toy store probably has realized their durability. They hold up, kids (all ages!) love them, and even parents too! Another feature I like--the names written on the bottom (my kids just couldn't believe I hadn't memorized the trains' names like they had! Now I can just lift the train up!). They are cute, the kids can act out storylines from the books or movies, and they are going to last for a long time--most likely passed down to next generation.
Percy is a Must Have for Thomas Fans !! January 18, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
How can you have Thomas and not Percy!?! With his infectious grin, gentle nature, and cheerful green color Percy has nearly as many adventures as Thomas. [It is not that Percy has an adventurous spirit. Percy is happy just shuttling cars in the Yard. It's just that adventure just seems to find him.] He gets covered with dirt, coal dust, rocks (in a landslide), and delectable chocolate (my favorite story--lol). He also has run-ins with Chinese Dragons, Jack Frost, Dirty Diesels, and troublesome trucks, etc.
Five Stars. For the Thomas crowd I would think Percy would be a necessity because he is at the center of many an adventure. Certainly he is my own son's second favorite Steamie. Typical sturdy construction. Percy is a nearly always a happy little Steamie that is lots of fun to play with.
