Little conductors will have loads of fun with this high-quality figure-eight railroad set from Thomas & Friends. Made of wood, the track features an elevated bridge in the center and a water tower where Thomas can re-fuel; the "water" rises and falls with flicks of the spout. Sir Topham Hatt and a red cargo car keep Thomas company. Other items in the 25-piece set include a railroad-crossing sign, a stop sign, and a tree.  Well made - sturdy August 28, 2008
My son LOVES trains right now. We got this as a starter for his wooden train set. He loves the track & the water tower. Worth the money!
Amazing value July 23, 2008
I hope I'm not spilling the beans on this, but this is a figure 8 track set, water tower, Thomas train with separate car, water tower, bridge, and a couple of figurines. It is easily an $80 value for $38.
Wonderful toy April 6, 2008
My grandson is 26 months old and absolutely loves this Thomas set. He has a few other Thomas toys, but this set is his absolute favorite. He will sit and play with it for 45 minutes at a time - which is great for a 2-year old!

We got this for our 20-month-old daughter who was starting to get into trains. Thought it would be a good starter set. It was fairly easy to put together. We set it up on the floor in a corner of the playroom. I will say that I don't understand the appeal of the water tower since it doesn't seem to do much (maybe I'm just not getting how it works?). All the other little pieces (tree, signs, conductor) seem a little superfluous and will probably get lost.
She's been most interested in taking the tracks apart and we've had to put it back together several times. She likes the trains and carries them around, plays with them on tables, etc. She recently learned how to make the train go on the track and likes doing that occasionally. Otherwise, this is not her favorite toy.
May be better as part of a larger set on a train table (she likes those at the bookstore, etc.).

Son loves all things Thomas. This was a great economical way to get his Thomas train set started. Bridge has a little trouble staying together, but a little wood glue solved that problem. 32 month old is able to put the train tracks together and take them apart by himself - he feels a sense of accomplishment and I don't have to find tracks in the middle of the floor! Great gift for any Thomas fan.
